Well, its been about a year since I last wrote, mainly because I'm too busy debating libs on facebook. I responded to one of their posts saying the healthcare bill was needed because "something" had to be done. And it wasn't fair that the privileged got insurance and insurance companies made too much profit. So I responded with:
Is it privileged for someone who gets a job that carries insurance, or hard work? If one is sick in this country, by law they can't be refused care. Every state, and a lot of counties, have free clinic and programs to assist people with healthcare. Do not businesses exist to make a profit? Overhauling our top-notch health care system and downgrading it to the sub-par level it will become is not the answer. This health care bill is nothing more than the liberal democrats pushing this country towards socialism, which they have been trying to do for years. Who's going to pay for this massive legislation? As a military veteran, I won't go near a VA clinic because it is such a terrible experience. And now we're going to have that for everyone.? This is a bad bill, and doesn't really address the few smaller, more thouhtful changes which could've helped more people get health insurance. Its like using a jackhammer to drive in a small nail. By the way, I was uninsured for a while, and I found a way to keep my family healthy and provide the care they needed. Also, this legislation is most likely un-constitutional, as well as the "executive order" banning abortions is un-constitutional, as a President cannot alter this nation's laws. All-in-all, this health care overhaul is terrible, and will only create more problems, not including the federal gov't. taking over 1/6 of the economy."
